Prostate Cancer Treatments

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men, and at Aster, we provide advanced robotic, surgical, and systemic therapies tailored to the patient’s disease stage.

Robotic-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy (Nerve-Sparing Surgery)

  • The gold standard surgical treatment for localized prostate cancer.
  • Performed using the 4th Generation Da Vinci Robotic System, allowing for precise tumor removal while preserving nerves responsible for urinary continence and erectile function.
  • Minimally invasive, leading to reduced blood loss, lower infection rates, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery.

HIFU and TULSA for Prostate Cancer Treatment

  • High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive treatment for localized prostate cancer that uses focused ultrasound waves to heat and destroy cancerous tissue while preserving surrounding healthy structures. It is an outpatient procedure with minimal side effects, making it an excellent option for patients looking to avoid surgery or radiation.
  • Transurethral Ultrasound Ablation (TULSA) is an MRI-guided, incision-free procedure that delivers precise, directional ultrasound energy through the urethra to selectively ablate prostate cancer tissue. Unlike HIFU, TULSA can treat the entire prostate or specific regions, offering greater flexibility while minimizing the risk of damage to critical structures like nerves and the urinary sphincter.

PSMA PET-CT Scan for Staging & Advanced Disease Management

  • Provides highly accurate detection of metastatic prostate cancer, ensuring precision-targeted therapies.
  • Enables PSMA-guided focal therapies, such as radioligand therapy and stereotactic radiation for metastatic prostate cancer.

Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer

  • Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) offer high-dose, focused radiation to cancerous cells while sparing normal tissues.
  • Brachytherapy (Internal Radiation Therapy) is used for select cases of localized prostate cancer.

Hormone Therapy, Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy

  • Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) slows the growth of hormone-sensitive prostate cancer.
  • Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy for advanced/metastatic cases.
